== Tom Switzer == <!-- Do not change this line. Your report should go below this line. --> * {{pagelinks|Tom Switzer}} * {{userlinks|RiverstoneEditor84}} I am disclosing upfront that I have a personal connection to the subject of this article, Tom Switzer, as we previously worked together at the same organisation. He has asked me to flag this issue. In accordance with Wikipedia's COI guidelines, I am raising this concern here rather than editing the article directly. The "Controversies" section of the article is being repeatedly modified in a way that appears to reflect a conflict of interest from another party. Specifically, the edits: - Completely remove the section covering Switzer's resignation from the ABC, which is well-sourced and relevant to the article - Replace the neutral, balanced "Controversies" section with a version that focuses exclusively on the CIS sexual harassment allegations - Introduce a non-neutral tone that disproportionately emphasises one side of the dispute The version I am requesting be restored covers both controversies (ABC and CIS) in a neutral tone, sourced from reliable publications including The Sydney Morning Herald and the Australian Financial Review. I request that a neutral editor review both versions and that the page be considered for semi-protection given the repeated biased editing. [[User:Editor24577|Editor24577]] ([[User talk:Editor24577|talk]]) 10:00, 18 March 2026 (UTC) :Thank you for raising this through the proper channels. I'd like to address the specific claims made and provide additional context. :First, I did not remove content about Switzer's resignation from the ABC. That material has been moved to the career section of the article, where it sits chronologically alongside his other career history. It remains fully sourced. :Second, my edits were not limited to the controversies section. I restructured the entire article to improve neutrality per WP:NPOV, including trimming promotional language, removing non-notable biographical detail from the early life section, and reorganising the career section chronologically. These changes are all visible in the edit history. :Third, regarding the sexual harassment section β much of the language in this section was originally written by other independent editors and has been restored on multiple occasions by different editors when removed. The content is sourced entirely to independent reporting from The Sydney Morning Herald and the Australian Financial Review, and covers both the allegations and Switzer's denial, the resolution, the apology issued by CIS, and the reported costs. The sexual harassment allegations have their own dedicated section on the Centre for Independent Studies Wikipedia article, and the same treatment is appropriate here given the significance of the matter and the volume of independent coverage. :I welcome review by a neutral editor and am happy to discuss any specific concerns about sourcing or neutrality.
