== Merge proposal ==

I propose merging [[Censorship by TikTok]] into [[Censorship of TikTok]] because a reader is currently presented with these two confusing similar articles when search for TikTok censorship. [[Censorship by TikTok]] is simply a subset of [[Censorship of TikTok]] that is performed by the company itself. Furthermore, it's apparent from the content of [[Censorship by TikTok]] that there's no bright line between these topics. It sounds like a substantial fraction of censorship by the company is due to pressure from governments.

Specifically, I propose merging [[Censorship by TikTok#Politics]] and [[Censorship by TikTok#Minority groups]] into a new section called something like "By TikTok itself" and that [[Censorship by TikTok#Censorship on Douyin]] be merged into [[Censorship of TikTok#People's Republic of China]]

*'''Oppose''': While I agree the two article titles might make it confusing, I think they each have a different scope. One is about detailed country by country policy towards the TikTok app, while the other is about TikTok censorship policy. Both are supported by separate existing sourcing and both are likely to grow so we might end up with an article of unmanageable size if merged. Perhaps changing the names of the articles into something like  "TikTok content moderation and censorship" and "International bans and restrictions on TikTok" would clear up scope and remove confusion.
