:Specifically, (a) MK is still a "city-designate": city status must wait until HMQ has put her mark on the [[Letters Patent]]; (b) the figure of 287,100 is for the [[Borough of Milton Keynes]], which is a lot bigger than MK itself. The ONS has not yet released the Built-up Area data.
