Therianthropy is an entire community and there is way too much hate that goes towards them. As a therian myself, I think that this information would be extremely helpful when new to therianthropy. Let me get one thing clear, therianthropy is not shape-shifting. Therians have "shifts" which is an impulse to behave like a non-human animal. Then ,there is quadrobics, commonly referred to as "quads". Quads is basically walking on all fours but walking, jumping, trotting, and galloping. Please remember, not all therians do quads, and not all people who do quads are therians. Therianthropy is different for everyone, quads is just another way to express yourself. there is a very common misunderstanding between therians and furrys. Therians identify as a non-human animal, furrys have a fancination with animals with human characteristics. One commonly used question is "how do you become a therian?" well, the answer is that you can't "become a therian" you're born that way and you find out later. This is called being "awakened". If you think you're a therian, ask one [if you know one] and if you don't then go do a whole bunch of research. Just a freindly reminder, don't tell everyone. Unfortunately, some people bully others for being themselves. this article is actually explaining lycanthropy, known to be lycanthropes. Lycanthropes believe they can shapeshift into animals, therians do not and are aware that they are human. Lycanthropy is known to be a mental illness, therian is a belief that actually doesn’t have to do with religion, as far as i know.
