This template is used by members of [[Wikipedia:WikiProject Articles for creation|WikiProject Articles for creation]] to keep track of the backlog of submissions. It may be transcluded to a project or user page by typing {{tl|AFC status}} along with various optional parameters:
*The ''align'' parameter may be set to '''left''', '''right''' or '''none''' and prescribes the position of the template on the page. The default, if not specified, is left. ("none" means it breaks text flow, while "left" means it's on the left side of the page and text flows around it.)
*The ''type'' parameter may be set to '''userbox''' or '''original''' and determines the format of the display (see examples below). The default is original.
*The ''nocat'' parameter may be set to '''true''' or '''false'''. If true, the page will not be added to [[:Category:Wikipedia Articles for Creation reviewers]] when using userbox format.
