This template is used to tag pages for speedy deletion under the [[Wikipedia:Criteria for speedy deletion|speedy deletion criteria]], specifically [[Wikipedia:Criteria for speedy deletion#G4|CSD G4]].  There is a separate template for each criterion &ndash; see the table to the right.

This template places the page into the categories&#058; [[:Category:Candidates for speedy deletion|Candidates for speedy deletion]], [[:Category:Candidates for speedy deletion as pages previously deleted via deletion discussion]].

The template should be placed at the top of the page to be deleted.

:Where ''DeletionDiscussionLink'' is the pagename of the most recent [[Wikipedia:Deletion process|XfD]] discussion. This parameter should be specified if the page was previously deleted under a different name, or in a non-obvious location (such as a 2nd or subsequent nomination).  If this parameter is not specified, the default is <code><nowiki>Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/{{PAGENAME}}</nowiki></code>
