== Notes ==

Almost all Wikipedias use 'CITEREF' as the prefix; two known exceptions are French Wikipedia, which has no prefix, and Spanish Wikipedia, which uses 'CITAREF'; others ({{sfnlink/prefix|unsupported languages}} Wikipedias) do not allow short footnotes and the full citation id has a different format. 

The following Wikipedias have an {{tl|sfn}} template or equivalent (e.g., Polish [[:pl:Szablon:Odn|Odn]]) and are known to use 'CITEREF' as the prefix: {{sfnlink/prefix|verified}}. The rest of the [[List of Wikipedias|foreign Wikipedias]] probably use 'CITEREF', but haven't been verified.}}</noinclude>
