This template is used by [[WP:CSD|speedy deletion]] notification templates to leave a {{tlx|First article}} welcome message if placed on a talk page that didn't exist before the notification. The idea is that a user without a talk page is likely a complete newcomer, and [[WP:BITE|some extra guidance may be appropriate]].<br />

The optional parameter <code>nothanks=yes</code> will suppress the "thank you for your contributions" phrase. It is also possible to suppress the "Welcome!" heading by using the optional parameter <code>header=no</code>.<br />
