Article is kind of a hard one for me so I'm willing to pull this nomination if enough people say I'm wrong about this. Subject was the president of the University of Nanking in 1897 but I'm not 100% sure if that's enough for to pass WP:ACADEMIC. I did WP:BEFORE but wasn't finding anything else to support this article, maybe there are sources in Mandarin? Also there are only three sources, the first source is an introduction to a collection of papers at Stanford, the second is from findagrave.com which is not a reliable source, and the third is a primary source for an appoint as vice consul to China. Dr vulpes (Talk) 19:21, 18 March 2026 (UTC)

First, thanks for your serious supervision.
Then, you are right, there is a trans-language article of George Arthur Stuart, 师图尔,that is a Chinese Mandarin article, you can search it. And University of Nanking is the predecessor of Nanjing University which is one of the top University in China today.
You doubt whether the article can pass the WP:ACADEMIC., WP:BEFORE.
Maybe, you're not familiar with Chinese universities.
I wish you can reconsider and pull this nomination. Scfslyzkf (talk) 20:06, 18 March 2026 (UTC)
  • The claims that he was president of the University of Nanking would be an easy WP:NPROF pass under The person has held a highest-level elected or appointed administrative post at a major academic institution or major academic society.. However, it's only cited to a non-RS (family papers): can we find it in something reliable, perhaps in Chinese? UndercoverClassicist T·C 20:34, 18 March 2026 (UTC)
I found a citation backing up his presidency in the 1924-1925 report of the president in the bulletin of the Private University of Nanking (金陵大學)[1]. The institution issuing the report was the successor of the Nanking University (匯文書院) of which Stuart was the president. In 1952, the Private University of Nanking merged with Nanjing University, which was itself founded as the Sanjiang Normal School in 1902. Jahaza (talk) 22:34, 18 March 2026 (UTC)
I don't know if this would count as a reliable source since it's not secondary but it is a really good find. I'll see what I can find now that I know there's content on the other wiki. Dr vulpes (Talk) 23:22, 18 March 2026 (UTC)
A university reporting on the names of its own governing body would usually fall under WP:ABOUTSELF: the claim isn't exceptional or surprising, we would expect a university to know who its president was, and there's no known reason to doubt the claim. That means we can normally consider a source of that nature reliable. UndercoverClassicist T·C 07:20, 19 March 2026 (UTC)

There are serious issues with this page and seem to have been for almost two decades. It is unclear whether the subject passes notability. It seems as though WP:AUTHOR would apply most obviously here, but other than writing a large quantity of books, they don't seem like a significant body of work. In searching for independent sources to establish notability more generally, it doesn't seem as though there are any other than sites affiliated with his particular religious sect, and no news articles from reputable sources. Nominating this for deletion on behalf of User:Readwritehistory. The original talk page message gave this reason: This biography is non-notable and a lot of the content lists the subject's non-profit as the citation. Thebiguglyalien (talk) 00:18, 17 March 2026 (UTC)

List of converts to Catholicism from Islam (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views) – (View AfD | edits since nomination)

I could not find any coverage for conversion to Catholicism from Islam, other than about that one Argentine president specifically. However, I think this list should be merged to List of converts to Christianity (I found some entries already there, didn't check all) and then have the redirect deleted. I am not doing WP:OTHERSTUFF, but this article is comparable with the following so the comparisons are similar; Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/List of converts to Sikhism from Christianity, Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/List of converts to Hinduism from Islam, and Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/List of converts to Islam from Hinduism were deleted without redirects because the search terms were implausible and because the search algorithm would point you to the correct place. Basically, the topic doesn't meet WP:NLIST and there were concerns of WP:SOAPBOX/WP:COATRACK. If the articles they are merged into get too long, then they should be split by alphabetical order and not former religion as these people were not notable for their former religion. I have also listed List of converts to Hinduism from Christianity for the same rationale. Thanks, Sahib-e-Qiran, EasternShah 16:40, 10 March 2026 (UTC)

nahleghini (talk) 01:13, 17 March 2026 (UTC)
Could be both, I think. I'd still advocate against a redirect because of previous discussions saying that these are implausible and that the MediaWiki software will direct the user to the correct page(s), but I could be convinced against this. Sahib-e-Qiran, EasternShah 01:20, 17 March 2026 (UTC)
i agree with it being merged with List of converts to Christianity from Islam, it would make it simpler Meow3323 (talk) 08:44, 18 March 2026 (UTC)

Merge to List of converts to Christianity from Islam. I think there is a specific context here that makes it preferable to merging to the very general List of converts to Catholicism or the overbroad List of converts to Christianity. While I understand the reasoning for the shared nomination, that is why I am voting slightly differently here than on Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/List of converts to Hinduism from Christianity. I could find some coverage for conversion to Hinduism from Christianity, which is not surprising considering the people who converted in the 20th century. However, I think this list should be merged to List of converts to Christianity and then have the redirect deleted. • Comment There's a paragraph that touches on the history of the land as a tuberculosis sanitorium. It shows some integration into the community's history that I wouldn't say is run of the mill. – The Grid (talk) 21:16, 13 March 2026 (UTC)
    • Comment The sanitorium was named Mount St. Francis. We might be able to support an article about that insitution, but this church just seems to have inherited the property. WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 19:32, 14 March 2026 (UTC)
The area where the sanatorium once stood was named "Mount St. Francis" after the property was sold to the Sisters of St. Francis of Perpetual Adoration. The sanatorium from 1909 to 1947 was known as the Modern Woodmen of America Sanatorium. PPriyix (talk) 20:56, 14 March 2026 (UTC)
  • Delete: It is a church. There are between 350,000 and 400,000 of those in the U.S. Lacking something notable, a "church", as an organization is not notable: See WP:NCHURCH. Not being of any concern over any monetary value to the church, and likely because it was absolutely needed, the 1920 Byzantine-style crucifix was regilded in 2007. The origin would be of interest. Comments: I agree about the "history" part. The "Modern Woodmen of America Sanatorium" (1909 to 1947) should have sufficient sourcing. There is YouTube, History Colorado.Pikes Peak Library District's Digital Collections. More than 12,000 patients and 1,360 acres in what was then called "Woodmen, Colorado". There are still some surviving Gardiner-style tuberculosis huts, at the Rock Ledge Ranch Historic Site, Pioneers Museum, and Penrose Hospital, among others. I stayed in Colorado Springs a few days, loved the area, and visited several historic places, including the Will Rogers Shrine of the Sun, Cheyenne Mountain Zoo, Pikes Peak, and several others. I authored the Julie Penrose article and contributed to Spencer Penrose, The Broadmoor, and others. There is a lot of history in the area. The historic sanitarium likely deserves an article. It still has a road named after it. Maybe I can get the time to look at it or the "Union Printers Home" (1892)? -- Otr500 (talk) 04:54, 16 March 2026 (UTC)
