@Footy2000 RapidX is a completely separate public transit system (like Delhi Metro) and should use Template:Infobox public transit. On the other hand, other semi high speed rail like Vande Bharat Express use Template:Infobox rail service since they are a part of an existing transit system. Although it is an independent service with its own right of way, it is not a service that's run in a single locale (urban area/region/state). There are RapidX services planned in states like Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, Haryana is planning it's independent service, there's one plan by Uttar Pradesh government for cities of Lucknow and Kanpur. TPI:rail service is better suited in such cases because these articles host multiple systems and routes, while TPI:public transit is solely dedicated for an entire system, independent of others. Name of the service: RapidX or Namo Bharat?

The name of the service initially envisioned as RapidX has been changed to Namo Bharat. In contrast, there seems to be some confusion regarding this in the media and on Wiki. Some suggest that the trainsets have been named Namo Bharat and not the service.

While on the ground, the name "RapidX" was covered and replaced with "Namo Bharat Train" on the inauguration plaque, unveiled by Prime Minister Modi on October 20. Some user has also created a separate page for the "Namo Bharat (trainset)". What is the status of the name of the service and should the page be renamed? WP:COMMONNAME applies. All the sources call this system “Rapidx” not Namk Bharat

I think it's time to revisit renaming this. The "RapidX" brand appears to be largely retired, and the official website consistently calls the system Namo Bharat. Asamboi (talk) 10:56, 8 September 2025 (UTC)

– The train service formerly known as RapidX was rebranded as Namo Bharat in October 2023, the day it launched passenger services. Two years later, the new name is used consistently on the official website and reliable news sources. Google Trends also consistently shows a 20:1 ratio in favor of the new name, and some of those RapidXs are false positives for medical diagnostics and activewear companies. The old name predates the launch, so it has little mindshare.

The name Namo Bharat is currently used for an article about the Namo Bharat trainset that operates these services. As part of the move, I would also suggest moving that to Namo Bharat (trainset), and merging Namo Bharat Rapid Rail into the current RapidX (future Namo Bharat) article. Merger proposal

@Bharnav2009, Footy2000, Hexatron93, Ecangola, and Asamboi: I propose to merge Delhi–Ghaziabad–Meerut Regional Rapid Transit System into Namo Bharat. It seems they duplicate each other. (Generated using markasduplicate.js.) --Bouzinac (talk) 13:08, 27 February 2026 (UTC)

It's not a complete duplicate: the Delhi-Meerut line is only one of many proposed/under construction for the Namo Bharat network. So while content should be rationalized, the two articles should remain separate. Asamboi (talk) 15:10, 27 February 2026 (UTC)

@Bouzinac im sorry but they must not be merged, rather must be updated, Namo Bharat is the rrts trainset, the system, whereas this page discusses the first rrts project of the country, more corridors to follow, hence more articles to follow AaritJain (talk) 20:11, 9 March 2026 (UTC)
